A FALSE REPORT OF THE DEATH OF COL.

TAYLOR,

SEPTEMBER 29, 1863

We are deeply grieved to hear of the death of our friend Colonel Marion C. Taylor, of the Fifteenth Kentucky infantry, who was killed in the late battle in Georgia.  We have not learned any of the particulars of this sad event.  The field officers of this regiment seem to be doomed.  Among all the survivors of this terrible battle there is not a nobler man than was Marion Taylor.
